In the days past Halloween

Crafty Jack sprouts magic wings.

When chill winds whisper “Frost tonight!”

Clever Jack lifts off in flight,

Assuring all who love O’l Jack;

“Fear not, my friends, I’ll soon be back!”

Flying Jack measures approximately 9” tall by 6 1/2” wide in the photographed pose. He is very bendy and spindly so you can pose him any way you like. His arms, legs, and stem/hanger are  all made of wrapped aluminum armature wire. Head is created in Cernit and his clothing, repurposed silk floral materials. He can hang as a stand alone decoration or tree ornament.

My concept of the charming Will-O-Wisp insisted on taking his eyeball companion out for a stroll. Oh well, who am I to argue with an enigma?  They stand 6 1/2” tall to top of head with a 7” arm span. The eyeball reaches 10 1/2”. This is a one-of-a-kind original Mixed Media creation of Cernit polymer clay and spun cotton over a wire armature.

 

As is usual, the translucent nature of Cernit and the extra amount of detail I put into my work cannot be done justice by one photo. I will post more views showing various angles and details of this piece on my facebook and instagram  pages @ Sculpture by Rhonda Whitledge

In a hollowed out pumpkin vignette display, a witch visits her family's graveyard and offers purple flowers and mixes up a good tidings spell in her cauldron. The gravestones feature cutouts that illuminate and the cauldron top also lights up all from an incorporated fairy light strand. And I hand painted and airbrushed the trees in the backdrop for a spooky feel.
