Ding Bat

Ding is a one of a kind art doll. He is signed and dated. He is constructed from cotton fabric and clay. He is hand stitched and hand sculpted. I painted him with acrylics and pastels.  He has a wire armature so he can stand on his own. 

I created Ding Bat to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and the winter solstice. 

All of my creations include a portrait, and an original poem or story.

“SKULL WALL SCONCE”

Handmade Skull Sconce — original, hand-sculpted ceramic piece featuring a freehand design carved into stoneware clay for depth and dimension. Kiln-fired and glazed for durability, with dramatic cutouts that allow light to glow through the skulls details.

Approximately 10.5” wide x 5.5” high x 1/4” deep. 

Designed for versatile display, includes a removable multi-link matte black chain with lobster claw ends. Two embedded metal loops allow for traditional wall hanging hardware if preferred.

Can be displayed without a backlight. Shown hanging in front of an orange lampshade; any external light source may be used (lamp, porch light, battery tea lights, etc.). Light source NOT included—sculpture only.

“Hattie Mae’s Garden Party”

features a 14” tall Pumpkin head Mama with woven hat, a woven basket carriage, 4 pumpkin kids in the carriage and 3 walking along. Included is a small basket I wove for Hattie and some froggies.

Constructed with a wire armature, Hattie is posable. She wears a fabulous embroidered and beaded coat 
Adorned with buttons, acrylic flowers, charms and fabric stitched on in the Kantha style. Her shoes are hand dyed silk velvet with buttons and beads and more flowers.

The carriage is woven from raffia covered wire and a fun newspaper spun cordage. Wooden nickels are wheels and pink and blue pencils become axels!

They can be fun for all seasons if you add some tiny American flag toothpicks for July 4th and transition them right into Fall!
