ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to attempt poetry but my favorite things involve Halloween!
ReplyDeleteFrom Trisha, who was thwarted by the Comment Goblin:
ReplyDelete"I know better than to attempt poetry but I would love the candy corn earrings, a combination of my two weaknesses, candy corn and earrings. Halloween allows me to wear my pointy deep purple witches hat I have worn for about more Halloweens than the number of comments you received so far."

Good Evening,
ReplyDeleteWhile I adore all things Halloween, I would like to share a favorite Halloween memory . . .
When my daughter, Kirsten, was three years old, my husband and I took her and her slightly older brother to just a few neighbors for Tricks or Treats. With them being so young, they each had a small jack-o-lantern pail for their bounty. The neighbors thought she was so cute in her angel costume that even though we only went to several houses, soon her pail was nearly full, and getting heavy. We wanted to carry it for her, but she insisted on doing it herself. We decided the next house would be the last visit for the evening, and when the door was opened and the little ones squeaked out “Trick or Treat!”, rather than looking angelic, she looked frighteningly Frankenstein-like, slowly lifting her pail with a locked-elbow stiff arm to present it for one last goodie.
Now at college, one of her favorite things is a good cup of tea. When I saw the sweet print of “The Perfect Brew”, I thought of how much Kirsten would enjoy it, framed and in the kitchen of her apartment, alongside her teapot, special teacups and various concoctions of tea leaves.
Thank you for your consideration!
